Francisca Alvarez has been recognized by many for her humanitarian actions in several different ways. Her efforts, sparing the life of those prisoners during the Texas Revolution, haven’t been forgotten between the pages of Texas History. She has appeared in numerous books related to the Texas Revolution and even today her name is mentioned in history text books all over Texas. Writers have written about her, even artist and songwriters have found on Francisca Alvarez, the inspiration needed to express their art and talents. It is our duty, as descendants of "the Angel", to maintain alive her legacy for future generations. Her story deserves to be known by all Texans. The following links are, without a doubt, proof of these recognitions. 1. Bill H.R. 802 - Seventy-seven Texas Legislature 2. The Angel of Goliad - by Brian Burns 3. "Angel of Goliad" - by K. R.
